In short: On 27 August 2025, BiM – Bildung im Mittelpunkt held an event in the Arkadenhof, the arcaded courtyard of Vienna City Hall, and we were there with two stations: a classic photo booth in the courtyard's garden and a 360° Ground Spinner with an illuminated platform. Large red "BIM" letters added a third photo spot. From the afternoon until late at night, guests took photos, filmed and spun.

The occasion: BiM in the Arkadenhof

BiM – Bildung im Mittelpunkt ("education at the centre") runs the after-school leisure programmes at Vienna's public schools. At the end of August, just before the new school year, BiM invited guests to the Arkadenhof of City Hall. The goal for the evening was clear: guests should not only listen and raise a glass, but also experience something and take it home.

To do that, we combined two devices that complement each other well: the photo booth for the classic souvenir photo and the spinner for a short slow-motion video.

The location: a courtyard that makes an impression

The Arkadenhof of Vienna City Hall is one of the most striking backdrops in the city. Neo-Gothic arches on every side, a green centre with trees and flower beds, and above it all the façade with its turrets. By day the courtyard feels bright and open; in the evening it transforms.

For the event the arcades were bathed in deep red, with palms and high tables between the columns. In that light our spinner stood out too: the platform glowed green and multicoloured, and the rope barriers drew a clear frame around the station.

The classic photo booth in the garden

The classic photo booth stood in the middle of the courtyard's green area, between shrubs and benches. Next to it was a box full of props: hats, glasses and other accessories for guests to dress up with.

The photo booth is our classic because it works for every group. One press of a button, a countdown, a photo. Someone on their own is done just as quickly as a whole team squeezing in front of the camera. At an event with many colleagues that matters: nobody needs a long explanation of how it works.

The 360° Ground Spinner: a video of the evening

The second attraction was the 360° Ground Spinner. Guests step onto the round platform, the camera arm circles around them once, and the result is a short slow-motion video. The platform glows at floor level, and a ring light on the arm keeps faces well lit even late in the evening.

The first guests were on the platform in the afternoon, and after dark the spinner became an eye-catcher in the courtyard. The ropes around it keep the area clear so the camera arm can turn safely while the people waiting stay close to the action.

The photo booth and the spinner work well together: one delivers a photo, the other a video. Anyone who visited both stations went home with two different souvenirs.

The BIM letters as a third photo spot

Under the arcades stood large red letters spelling "BIM", taller than a person and impossible to miss. Without any device of its own, it became another photo spot where guests took pictures with their phones. Together with our two stations, it created a small photo trail through the courtyard.

From morning until late at night

We set up in the morning while the courtyard was still empty. That gave us time to place and test the stations: the photo booth in the green area, the spinner on level ground with enough space around it.

The first guests arrived in the afternoon, and the stations ran until late at night. As the light changed, so did the mood of the pictures: bright and summery at first, later lit in red with the illuminated façade in the background.

What matters at outdoor events

A courtyard is not a hall. At open-air events we pay attention to three things in particular:

The ground. The spinner needs a level, solid surface. In the Arkadenhof that meant the paved area, not the lawn.

The space. Around the spinner there has to be enough room for the camera arm and for the people waiting. The barrier helps keep that area clear.

The light. In the evening, courtyard lighting alone is often not enough. That is why the photo booth and the spinner bring their own light, so the results look good after sunset too.

Photo booth and spinner for your event

Are you planning a corporate event, a summer party or a celebration for your team and want to offer guests more than a photo? The combination of a classic photo booth and a 360° Ground Spinner works indoors and outdoors. Send us the date, the location and the approximate number of guests, and we will tell you how much space you need and how best to set up the stations. We work all over Austria.

FAQ: photo booth and 360° spinner at outdoor events

Does the 360° spinner work outdoors?

Yes, as long as the ground is level and solid and there is power nearby. If it rains, the station needs a roof, for example under arcades or in a marquee.

How much space does the spinner need?

The platform itself is compact; on top of that comes the area for the rotating camera arm and for people waiting. We plan this with you in advance based on the location.

Can the photo booth and spinner be combined?

Yes. The photo booth delivers photos, the spinner short slow-motion videos. Together they cover both and spread guests across two stations.

Do the devices work in the evening?

Yes. Both stations bring their own lighting, so the results look good in the dark as well.

Are there props at the photo booth?

Yes. On request we add a box with hats, glasses and other accessories.
