"50 years croma" made of 400 photos: photo mosaic wall at a summer party near Vienna

In short: At Croma Pharma's summer party on 12 June 2026 at Werft Korneuburg, just outside Vienna, the guests built one picture together. On our photo mosaic wall, 400 photo tiles came together to form the anniversary logo "50 years croma". The photos came from our classic photo booth, and the growing mosaic ran in parallel on the LED wall at the stage.
The occasion: a summer party in the open air
Croma Pharma is based in Leobendorf, a few kilometres from Korneuburg. For the summer party the company went down to the Danube, to the grounds of the former shipyard. The party was held outdoors: a large marquee, a stage with an LED wall a short distance away, and a check-in at the entrance.
The evening ran under the anniversary logo "50 years croma". The enquiry we received was specific from the start: not a photo activity on the side, but the mosaic wall.
Why a mosaic wall suits an anniversary
A photo booth gives every guest their own photo. A photo mosaic wall turns all the photos into one shared picture. At an anniversary that is more than a gimmick: the logo marking 50 years ends up being made of the people who were there that evening.
And something remains. The finished wall is not a souvenir photo on a phone but a piece the company can hang up.
The motif: from logo to simulation
Croma sent us the anniversary logo, and we simulated it as a mosaic in advance using sample photos. That shows before the party whether a motif still reads when it is made of small photos. After the first simulation the colour was adjusted: the logo appears in grey on white.
Only after approval were the panels for the wall produced. The picture area measures 150 × 150 centimetres and is divided into 20 by 20 fields, so 400 tiles of 7.5 centimetres each. That size was chosen on purpose: large enough to recognise the faces on the tiles, and with 400 photos easy to complete in one evening.
How the mosaic grows during the evening
For the guests the process is simple. They take their photos in the photo booth, three shots per session. They keep the photo strip. At the same time each shot is printed as a sticker at the wall.
The software works out from a photo's colours where it belongs. The guests stick their tile into the marked field themselves. Around 134 sessions in the photo booth fill the entire wall.
One of our team stays at the wall all evening, helps guests find the right field and keeps an eye on how far the picture has come.
The photo strip: "Together We Celebrate"
The print from the photo booth was matched to the party as well. Croma picked a strip with three landscape photos from our templates. We added the text "Together We Celebrate" and the anniversary logo and presented two colour versions. The choice was pink.
The layout was finalised two days before the party. That works because the strip is only printed on site. The wall, by contrast, has to be produced in advance.
The live mosaic on the LED wall
The marquee and the stage stood apart from each other on the grounds. Anyone standing in front of the stage would have seen nothing of the wall in the marquee. So the mosaic also ran digitally: the growing picture can be opened via a link in any browser, in this case on the LED wall behind the band.
In the evening the band played in front of an anniversary logo made of the audience's photos. For a company party that is a strong stage backdrop, and it takes up no extra space.
Weather, schedule and internet: what open air means
An outdoor party raises three questions that do not come up in a hall.
The weather. The wall stood in the marquee and was protected. Two days before the party the plan was changed anyway because of the forecast: the presentation of the finished mosaic was brought forward, and the photo booth stayed open afterwards. A shift like that is possible because we can control when the picture should be complete.
The internet. Without a connection there is no mosaic, and on open grounds Wi-Fi is rarely reliable. That is why we always bring our own mobile internet.
The space. The wall needs around four metres of width, one socket and level ground. We allow one and a half to two hours for setup.
What remains after the party
Croma received three things: the finished wall to hang up, the completed mosaic as a high-resolution image file, and all individual photos from the photo booth in digital form.
A mosaic wall for your event
Are you planning a summer party, an anniversary or a corporate event and want something shared to be there at the end? Send us your motif, the date and the approximate number of guests, and we will simulate in advance what your mosaic will look like. The photo mosaic wall is part of our Premium Line. Because every wall is produced individually, you should allow around four weeks' lead time. We work all over Austria.
FAQ: photo mosaic wall at company parties
How big is a mosaic wall?
At Croma the picture area measured 150 × 150 centimetres with 400 tiles. Size and number of tiles depend on the number of guests and the length of the event.
Where do the photos come from?
At this party from a classic photo booth. A mirror photo booth or further devices can supply photos just as well.
How long does it take until the mosaic is finished?
That is set in advance. At Croma the wall was planned for around five hours; the completion time can be scheduled and moved if needed.
Does the mosaic wall work outdoors?
Yes, if it is sheltered from the weather, for example in a marquee. Power and internet must be available; we bring mobile internet ourselves.
Can the mosaic be shown on a screen or LED wall?
Yes. The live mosaic runs via a link in the browser and can be shown on any screen with internet access.
What happens to the wall after the party?
It stays with you. You also receive the finished mosaic as a high-resolution file.
