Hitchhiking Through the WIFIversum: 360° Headspinner & Magic iMirror at WIFI Vienna

On 10 October 2024, WIFI Vienna on Währinger Gürtel lifted off: under the motto "Per Anhalter durch das WIFIversum" (Hitchhiking Through the WIFIversum), the Vienna Chamber of Commerce (WKW) turned its venue into a space station for one night. FiestaPics was on board with two setups – the 360° Headspinner and the Magic iMirror – making sure every guest went home with a souvenir from outer space.

A night in space: the WIFIversum

From the moment guests walked in, it was clear this was no ordinary party. A blue carpet ran through the hall like a runway, fog drifted across the floor, and silver balloon garlands with stars floated overhead like a small galaxy. Large space-themed walls, glowing high tables, an LED wall with astronaut artwork and a DJ booth in front of a nebula panorama completed the scene.

Photo and video experiences have to fit into a setting like this. That's why we styled both stations entirely around the space theme – from lighting and backdrops to the print layout.

360° Headspinner under a glowing LED arch

The eye-catcher on the dance floor was our 360° Headspinner. Instead of a platform on the floor, a camera arm circles the guests from above – so they stand freely on the floor and can move, dance and pose without stepping onto a platform. The station was framed by a large black arch with colourful LED tubes, plus fog and soap bubbles that created a real outer-space effect in the LED light.

Everything was controlled via a tablet on a stand right next to the arch. A large screen played the finished clips right after each take – turning onlookers into the next guests in line. The slow-motion 360° videos were ready within seconds and could be sent straight to guests' phones and shared.

Magic iMirror in front of a planet panorama

A little calmer but just as popular was the Magic iMirror. We placed it in front of a huge space photo wall showing the curve of the Earth and a starry sky, bathed in blue and purple light – a perfect match for the theme. The mirror greets guests with "Touch to Start", guides them through the shoot by touch and encourages posing with small animations.

The results speak for themselves: on the prints, guests were transported straight into space – in front of planets, asteroids and nebulae, some even in an astronaut suit. Guests could choose between a single photo and a three-photo layout, both featuring the event title "Per Anhalter durch das WIFIversum 10.10.2024". Every guest left with a truly personal souvenir.

Two setups, two completely different experiences: the 360° Headspinner brings movement, show value and video content for social media, while the Magic iMirror delivers high-quality photos to take home. Guests who love to dance head for the 360° video; those who want a beautiful keepsake go to the mirror. This spreads the crowd across the whole evening and offers something for everyone.
