Halloween at Vienna's Stadthalle: on 31 October 2026, soul. hosted its Halloween Edition in Studio F – and right in the middle of it stood the 360° Ground Spinner. From 21:00 until 03:00, the LED platform did not stand still for a minute.

A club night that calls for moving images

A Halloween party lives off what the guests are wearing. Weeks of preparation, make-up, hand-built masks – and what usually remains of it is a handful of blurry phone photos.

That is exactly where a 360° spinner comes in. It does not capture a costume as a snapshot, it orbits it: the camera travels a full turn around the guests, in slow motion, with the venue's lighting and decoration as the backdrop. An outfit becomes a small performance.

On top of that, a costume reads completely differently in motion than in a still. A cape that swings, a group bursting into laughter at the same moment, confetti flying through the frame – all of that disappears in a photo and only comes into its own in slow motion.

Why the 360° Ground Spinner works at a party

The 360° Ground Spinner is the floor-level version: a round platform with a surrounding LED ring that guests simply step onto. No rig overhead, no structure built around the guests – which makes it easy to place on a busy dance floor.

Two to four people fit comfortably. Because a take only lasts a few seconds, no queue builds up to slow the night down. And it brings the one thing a party really needs: the glowing ring is an attraction in itself, pulling people in before anyone has explained what the device does.

The setup in Studio F

We built everything in the morning and were finished well before doors opened. The setup included the LED platform, a ring light for illumination, the branded tower and a sharing station right beside it.

The organiser's Halloween decoration – cobwebs across the ceiling, red light over the floor – provided the backdrop without us adding a thing. That is how it should be: the device fits into the venue instead of covering it up.

Because the build was decoupled from doors opening, nobody had to think about technology once the night started. The on-site host took over, and the area was ready from the first minute.

A video overlay in the look of the Halloween Edition

The clips do not come out in some generic default design. The organiser supplied a custom video overlay that we loaded in before the event: the soul. logo at the top, the words "Halloween Edition" at the bottom together with Erste Sparkasse, a partner of the night. The same design language appeared on the beach flag beside the platform.

This is the point where a device becomes a brand surface. Every video a guest forwards or posts to their story carries the design of the evening with it – without an ad break, and without irritating anyone.

Sharing station: the video on your own phone in seconds

The sharing station stood right next to the spinner. Take finished, scan the code, video on your phone. No mailing list, no gallery that arrives days later.

That is the difference between a video shared the same night and one nobody ever watches. At a party the moment counts – and two days later it is gone.

Six hours of continuous operation with an on-site host

The spinner ran without a break from 21:00 to 03:00, with a host on site. At a club night that is not a luxury: you need someone to brief groups, keep the platform clear, make adjustments when needed and make sure everything still runs cleanly at two in the morning.

Is the 360° Ground Spinner right for your event?

For costume and themed parties it is close to ideal – every bit of effort guests put into their outfit becomes visible. It works just as well at balls, club nights and anywhere atmosphere and movement matter more than a quiet portrait. We have collected ideas for costume and themed events.

If you have less floor space, the 360° Headspinner is the more compact option – same idea, camera above the heads instead of at floor level.

Planning something similar? Tell us about your event – we will find the setup that fits.
