For this kids' birthday party, we designed the print format to match the theme: a Western-style wanted poster. Yellowed paper, ornate lettering, "WANTED" across the lower half and the occasion beneath it.
On top of that came digital props right in the picture – top hat, glasses, mustache, bow tie. The guests could pick what they wanted to wear and saw the result on the screen before printing started.
A designed layout is worth just as much at a private party as at a corporate event, only for a different reason: it turns a snapshot into a keepsake someone holds onto. A picture with the occasion along the edge ends up on the pinboard; one without ends up in a drawer.
Instant print: a photo in hand in under a minute
Every photo came straight out of the printer in the base of the photo booth robot. This is the part you underestimate until you've seen it once: less than a minute passes between pressing the button and holding the finished picture, and during that minute the whole group stands around the device waiting.
Printing is done by dye sublimation – the prints are instantly dry, smudge-proof and can be tucked away right away. With kids, the result on paper matters all the more because not every child has a phone. Every child can take a printed picture home without anyone having to enter a phone number or email address.
On the move through the whole shopping center
Le Burger is located in the Auhof Center in Vienna, and the photo booth didn't stay inside the restaurant. Between the aisles, under the Christmas decorations and in the play area, LUNA was just as much on the move – which causes quite a stir in a place like this. A driving photo booth in a shopping center rarely goes unnoticed.
Technically, that's no problem as long as the floor is level and step-free. That is exactly the most important point in planning: the photo booth robot needs drivable paths, no cable ramps and no door thresholds. Everything else – power from a regular 230 V outlet, internet via our own 5G – we bring with us.
Renting a photo booth for a birthday: what to clarify in advance
Three points decide whether a photo booth works at a birthday party or gets in the way:
The route. With the photo booth robot, it's not the footprint that counts but the route: level floor, no steps, no thresholds. With a fixed photo booth it's the other way around – there you need about two by two meters that stay free all evening.
The power. A standard household outlet nearby is enough. We lay extension cords ourselves, safely routed.
The layout. A branded frame matching the theme should be agreed on and tested beforehand, not on the birthday itself. A lead time of a few days is enough for that.
What we don't show, out of respect
At private parties, and especially with children, we follow a simple rule: without the parents' explicit consent, no guest ends up in a public post. That's why you only see pictures of the device and the venue here. The photos from the party itself belong to the family, not to our blog.
